Today I am going to post recipe for Homemade Caramel Sauce.I have adapted this recipe from Ree Drummond “The Pioneer Woman”. I used to see her whipping up this delicious caramel sauce and use to wonder that it must be so difficult to make caramel sauce at home but recently I went through her recipe and found that it is super easy and can be prepared in no time. This caramel sauce is perfect to go over many deserts. cakes and can be used in many ways. Do try this recipe friends,it is extremely easy and ultra delicious.
Servings: a medium bowl
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream/fresh cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- a pinch of salt
Get all the ingredients ready.
In a pan combine butter, sugar, heavy cream, vanilla extract and salt.Keep the gas on low to medium heat.
Let the butter and sugar melt completely.Keep stirring it in between.
After butter has melted completely, let the sauce simmer for around 5-7 minutes till it gets thick. It will start bubbling. When the sauces thickens a little bit then it means its done. It will look like the second picture given above.
Yummy Caramel Sauce is ready in no time.It is super delicious and very versatile.You can serve it warm or pour it in a glass jar and refrigerate it and use it when ever you want. Pour it warm over an ice cream sundae or make caramel milk shake or just drizzle some over a slice of cake or just have a spoon of it (I do this all the time).Use it in anyway you like.Will soon post some fun easy ways to use caramel sauce.Do try this and let me know how you like it.
