Servings: 2-3
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 big raw mango or 2 small raw mangoes
- 1/4 cup or 7-8 mint leaves
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp Black Salt
- 1 tbsp roasted cumin powder
- 4 cups water
Procedure:
Peel and chop the raw mangoes into big chunks.
Then take the mangoes in a pressure cooker and add 2 cups of water. Add 1 tsp salt and pressure cook it for 2-3 whistles. Then switch of the gas and let the pressure release naturally.
When all the pressure has been released naturally open the lid of the pressure cooker. Let it cool for around 10 minutes and then sieve it with help of a strainer. Accumulate all the water in a deep bowl, do not throw it.
Now take boiled mangoes in a blender jar, add mint leaves and blend it to a smooth paste. Use little water if required.
Now sieve the mango puree with help of a strainer into the same bowl in which boiled water has been accumulated. Add 2 more cups of water. It will look like the given picture above.
Add salt, black salt and roasted cumin powder and mix all the spices nicely. Give it a taste and adjust salt accordingly. You can also add sugar if you want to have little sweet and tangy aam panna. Now refrigerate aam panna for at least an hour before serving. It taste best when it is chilled. If you want to serve it immediately then use chilled water or some ice cubes.
Delicious and healthy aam panna is ready to be enjoyed in this hot summers. Aam Panna is very healthy and also has many medicinal values. Raw Mango protects from harmful effects of hot summer wind called ‘Loo’ which is very dangerous. Cumin aids in having good digestive system and keeps our stomach cool.
