Servings: 20-22 pooris
Ingredients:
For Aloo Masala-
- 1 big sized potato boiled and peeled
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder (you can adjust it according to taste)
- 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder
- 1/4 tsp black salt
- 2 green chillies finely chopped (you can adjust it according to taste)
Others-
- Puris(Find the recipe on a click)
- 1/2 cup onion finely chopped
- 1 cup plain yogurt whisked nicely (curd) (dahi)
- 1 tsp sugar
- Sweet tamarind chutney(Find the recipe on a click)
- 1/4 cup coriander finely chopped
- 1/4 cup nylon sev or bhujia
- Salt
- Red chilli powder
- Roasted cumin Powder
- Black Salt
Procedure:
For aloo masala mash the potatoes very nicely,
now add salt,red chilli powder,roasted cumin powder,black salt and green chillies in it. Mix all the ingredients nicely.
Get all the ingredients ready for making dahi puri.
First of all prick the puris with your thumb to make holes in it, sufficient enough to fill all the filings in it.
Now with a help of spoon fill all the puris with around 1 tsp aloo masala.
In the whisked yogurt add 1 tsp sugar and mix nicely. With a help of a spoon fill all the puris with yogurt,
then top all the puris with sweet tamarind chutney , adjust the quantity as per your liking.
Now sprinkle Salt,red chilli powder,roasted cumin powder and black salt on the puris. As shown in the picture above I have combined 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp roasted cumin, 1/2 tsp black salt in a small bowl and then sprinkled this masala mix on the puris. It is much more convenient this way. If some masala mix is left then just store it and use it later for any other dish.
Top the puris now with finely chopped onion,
Finally top it with finely chopped coriander and some nylon sev. I was out of nylon sev so used our every day bhujia snack. It also goes extremely well on these dahi puris.
Finger Licking and lip smacking dahi puris are ready to be enjoyed in no time.It is a perfect snack item. You can also use store bought puris for making dahi puris and can also make sweet tamarind chutney ahead of time and keep in refrigerator. It is good for around a month in refrigerator.Do try this and enjoy with your friends and family.Let me know how you like it.Enjoy !!
