Servings: 2-3

Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

For Ghugni –

  • 1.5 cups dry yellow peas
  • 3 cups water for boiling
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Pinch of orange food color (optional)
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tbsp ginger roughly chopped
  • 1 tbsp refined oil
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder (you can adjust it according to taste)
  • 1 tsp garam masala

For Serving –

Procedure:

Ghugni Chaat 1

Soak the peas in water for at least 4-5 hours, then rinse it nicely.

Take the soaked peas in pressure cooker, add 3 cups of water, salt, turmeric powder and orange food color.Close the lid and pressure cook it up to 2-3 whistles only.Do not over cook it other wise the peas will become very soft and mushy. Open the lid only when the pressure escapes naturally. If the peas are not cooked then pressure cook it again only up to 1 whistle.
