Servings: 1 pound cake,serves 4-5
Cooking Time: 45 minutes
- 1 cup all purpose flour (maida)
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar (measure after powdering)
- 1 tsp baking soda
- pinch of salt
- 1 tsp instant coffee powder
- 1/3 cup oil (vegetable oil,peanut oil etc)
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tbsp oil for greasing the cake pan
- 2 tbsp all purpose flour for dusting the cake pan
Take 1 cup milk at room temperature,add 1 tsp vinegar in it and stir nicely.Keep it aside for around 5-7 minutes.
In the mean time take all purpose flour (maida) in a deep bowl.
Add cocoa powder,instant coffee powder,baking soda and salt in it.Mix it very nicely.
Add powdered sugar in it and mix nicely.Dry ingredients are ready.
To the milk and vinegar mixture add vanilla extract and oil and mix it nicely.Wet ingredients are also ready.
Now add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix the batter gently till there are no lumps.Do not over beat the batter. Brownie batter is ready to be baked. Pre heat oven for about 10 minutes at 180 degree celsius or 350 degree fahrenheit.
Prepare a 8 * 8 square cake pan by greasing it with oil and then dust it nicely with the flour.You can use any cake pan of this size of your choice.
Pour the brownie batter in it and tap it well.We tap the cake pan after pouring the batter so that if there is any air bubbles in the batter,it will escape.
Now sprinkle the semi sweet chocolate chips on the batter.The chocolate chips makes the brownie extra decadent.You can also add finely chopped walnuts in it. I was out of walnuts so I used chocolate chips.
Now bake the brownie for about 25-30 minutes. After 25 minutes check the brownie by inserting a clean knife or tooth pick at multiple places and if it comes out clean this means brownie has been baked properly.It not then bake it for 5-7 minutes more and then check it again.When brownie is baked properly, take it out the from the oven safely and let it cool for about 10 mins in the pan and then unmould it on the wire rack and let it cool completely.
Then you can cut it and serve with hot tea or coffee as it is or you can use it for multiple deserts as per your liking.This brownie is good for 4-5 days. You can serve warm brownie with a scoop of chilled vanilla ice cream.Top it with some chocolate sauce and chopped walnuts or you can top the brownies with hot chocolate fudge sauce and some chopped walnuts and serve.Will soon post many more lip smacking decadent deserts.Do try this and let me know how you like it.
