Eggless Tutti Fruity Cookies

Serving: 22-23 cookies

Cooking Time: 30-35 minutes excluding freezing time


  • 1 cup all purpose flour (maida)
  • 2 tbsp custard powder (Vanilla flavor)
  • 1/2 cup butter ( salted or unsalted any can be used)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/2 tsp rose essence
  • 1/2 cup tutti fruity (candied papaya)

Take softened butter and sugar in a deep bowl and whisk it with help of a whisker or electric beater till it is light and fluffy.


Add cardamom powder and rose essence and whisk it again for around 2 minutes.

Now stir in the tutti fruity and mix it nicely with help of a spoon.

Finally add all purpose flour and custard powder. Now mix it with your hand and knead it into a soft dough. You will not need any water or milk to form it like a dough. I have not used anything, if then also you find it difficult to knead, use 1 tbsp milk. After kneading it will look like the second picture given above.

Now take the cookie dough on a aluminium sheet or cling wrap and gently form it like a log with your hands. It will look like the second picture given above.

Tightly roll the aluminium foil and close it from both the ends. It should look like the picture given above. Now we have to refrigerate the cookie dough for at least 5-6 hours.

After 6 hours take out the cookie dough from the refrigerator, remove the aluminium foil. Cut it 1/2 inch apart as shown in the second picture above.

Pre heat oven at 180 degree celsius or 350 degree fahrenhite for 10 minutes. Place the cookie dough 2 inch apart on a baking sheet lined with aluminium foil or parchment  paper. Cookies will expand little bit as it will bake so it is necessary to place them little apart.

Now bake the cookies for 14 – 15 minutes. Check the cookies after 10-12 minutes. When the bottom of the cookies start becoming brown, it means they are done. Initially it will be little soft, but they will firm up on cooling. Cool the cookies on the baking tray for 5-10 minutes and then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Super delicious tutti fruity cookies are ready to be enjoyed. Store them in an air tight container, they are good for 10-15 days. Enjoy this scrumptious treat with a hot cup of coffee or tea.
