Servings: 2

Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 180 grams or 3/4 cup paneer cut into big cubes
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder (coarsely grinded in preferred)
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder (you can adjust it according to taste)
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • 1/2 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder (This gives nice color without increasing the heat level)
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 2 tbsp plain yogurt (curd, dahi) (hung curd is preferred)
  • 1 tbsp kasuri methi

Procedure:

Peppy paneer 1

Take a pan (try to take a wide pan as it will be easy to cook paneer nicely) and add 1 tbsp butter in it. Keep the gas on medium heat.

When butter has melted completely add 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste in it and saute it for about a minute.

Now add paneer in it.

Peppy paneer 7

Stir it nicely so that it is nicely mixed with the ginger garlic paste.

Add salt, Black pepper powder, red chilli powder, chaat masala, kashmiri red chilli powder and garam masala in it.

Peppy paneer 14

Mix all the spices nicely with the paneer.

Now add 2 tbsp yogurt and stir it nicely with all the ingredients. Keep the gas on medium heat.

At first it will become little watery but as you will cook further, all the yogurt will be absorbed by the paneer and will become dry. After 5 minuted flip all the paneer to other side so that both the sides are evenly cooked. It will take around 5-7 minutes.

When the paneer starts looking golden brown in color add 1 tbsp kasuri methi in it. Crush it while adding as it releases nice flavor after crushing it. Mic it nicely.

Peppy paneer 20

Cook it more for about 2 minutes or so till nice char starts appearing on both the sides. It will look like the picture given above.

Peppy paneer

Serve it hot with coriander mint chutney, Kebab Dip or Tomato ketchup. This appetizer recipe is super simple and takes maximum 15 minutes. You can prepare this even if you have sudden guest in your home. This recipe is perfect for all the super busy folks who can prepare this even after their hectic schedule. You can put this inside a chapati with some finely chopped onion, roll it and your dinner is sorted. For my vegan friends you can easily substitute paneer with tofu and enjoy this mouthwatering recipe. Peppy paneer is too delicious and trust me you will not be able to stop with a piece or two. Do try it friends and please let me know how you like it. Enjoy !!
