Today I am posting a recipe of Homemade Pickled Jalapenos.Pickled Jalapenos is favorite of almost every body and widely used in many dishes now a days,specially in pizzas,variety of tex mex dishes and sandwiches.It elevates the flavor by adding a little kick to the dish.Pickling the jalapeno at home is very simple and takes no time.You have to just assemble it and keep it the refrigerator and let the ingredients do its magic.Do try this and let me know how you like it.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
- 4 fresh jalapenos
- 1 cup plain white vinegar (Distelled white vinegar)
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp crushed Oregano
Step 1: Wash the jalapenos nicely,then cut off its head and cut them into thin round slices.
Step 2: Take a glass jar big enough to accommodate the liquid and jalapenos,there should be some room after adding all the ingredients so that you can shake the jar and mix all the ingredients.Combine vinegar,water,salt,sugar,oregano in the jar and stir nicely so that the salt and oregano is mixed nicely.Now add the jalapenos in it and close the lid of the jar tightly and shake it nicely so that jalapenos are mixed with rest of the ingredients nicely.Now keep the jar in the refrigerator.
Step 3: In about 8-10 days you will see that the jalapenos have started changing the color and have pickled.It will get that tartness from the vinegar and all ready to use in any dish of your choice.Always keep it refrigerated.Homemade pickled jalapenos is ready to be enjoyed.Enjoy!!
When your last batch of pickled jalapenos is over then do not throw the liquid.Just slice some more fresh jalapenos and add in the liquid and refrigerate it.Your fresh batch of pickled jalapenos will be ready in few days.This method can be adopted 2-3 times.Then you have make fresh pickling liquid.
