Aloo matar ki sabji

  • 2 medium sized potato
  • 1/2 cup green pea
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp jeera
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • 4 green chilli finely chopped
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder (Dhaniya)
  • 1/2 tsp dry mango powder (Amchur)
  • 1.5 cup water for gravy


Step 1: Peel and Chop potato in medium sized cubes.

Step 2: Take oil in kadhayi, when oil is hot enough then add jeera.

Step 3: When jeera seeds starts crackling then add chopped green chillies and stir it, then add chopped potatoes and green peas.Saute for around 2 minutes.Now add salt,turmeric powder,red chilli powder,dhaniya powder and dry mango mango powder and stir it nicely.

Step 4: Now add water and keep stiring.Now cover the kadhayi with lid and cook for about 10 min or till potatoes are cooked.When potatoes are cooked then simmer the curry for sometime so that gravy becomes thick.If there is less gravy then you can add 1/2 cup water again.You can also garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves.Aloo matar curry is ready,serve it with roti or paratha.Enjoy !!
