Curd Rice

Servings: 2-3

Cooking Time: 40 minutes


  • 3 cup rice
  • 2 cup curd
  • 2 tbsp refined oil
  • 1 tbsp mustard seeds (sarso)
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp curry leaves
  • 5-6 green chilies (you can adjust it according to taste)
  • 3 tbsp coriander leaves finely chopped
  • 2 dry whole red chilies
  • 1/2 cup water (if required)


Step 1:Boil the rice as we do for white steamed rice and keep it aside.

Step 2: When rice is little bit cool then mix curd in it.If curd is very thick then you can add little bit water as required.Add salt and mix gently.

Step 3: Heat oil in a kadhai and when oil is hot enough add mustard seeds.When seeds begin to crackle then add curry leaves,green chilies and dry red chilies.Saute it for few seconds then add coriander leaves and immediately pour this above the rice curd mixture.Mix very nicely.Delicious curd rice is ready.Curd rice test best when it is little cold.So you can keep it in refrigerator for about 30 minutes.Enjoy !!
