Papdi

Servings: 50-55 papdi

Cooking Time: 1 hr

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all purpose flour(maida)
  • 1/2 cup rawa (semolina/suji)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp carom seeds(ajwain)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Water for kneading

Procedure:

Step 1: Combine all purpose flour,rawa,salt,carom seeds and 2 tbsp oil in a deep bowl and knead into a firm dough using enough water.

Step 2: Divide the dough into 50-55 equal portions and make small balls out of it.

Step 3: Roll each portion into a thin circle using rolling pin and prick them using a fork at regular intervals.

Step 4: Repeat step 3 for remaining portions.

Step 5: Heat the oil in a deep kadhai and deep-fry, a few papdis at a time, on a medium flame till they are crisp and turns golden brown in colour from all the sides. Drain on an absorbent paper.

Step 6: Store in an air-tight container. Use as required.Enjoy !!

Handy Tip:

You can use wheat flour instead of all purpose flour.This papdi can be used in various ways like in chaats or can be eaten as a snack also with hot tea.
