Aata ka Halwa

Cooking Time: 15-20 minutes


  • 1.5 cup whole wheat flour (Aata)
  • 5 tbsp ghee (Clarified butter)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 cup warm water
  • Almond flakes for dressing


Step 1: Heat ghee in a kadhai and when ghee is hot add whole wheat flour and keep it stirring. Keep the gas in medium flame.If you will keep the flame on high then wheat will become brown soon but it will not roast properly.Keep stirring continuously and roast the wheat flour till it becomes brown in color.This process will take around 10 – 12 minutes.

Step 2: When wheat flour has been roasted properly then add warm water slowly and keep stirring continuously so that there is no lumps.

Step 3: Now add sugar and cardamom powder and stir nicely.Garnish with almond flakes.Steaming hot halwa is ready. Enjoy !!
